The A-List: MAC Studio Face & Body Foundation

MAC Studio Face and Body in N2 (front) and C5 (background).

Hello Friends!

For my very first post I decided to talk about one of my all time favorite beauty products, MAC’s Studio Face and Body foundation. Now, I know that is a big statement, but trust me, it really lives up to all the hype. Lots has been said about Face and Body as it has been around for a long time. It is a favorite among MUA, Bloggers, YouTubers, and most everyone else who’s tried it. So, what can I say that has not already been said? Well, I will tell you why I love it!

I tend to gravitate towards light-to-medium coverage foundations, especially for daily use. This foundation gets a big check mark on that box. It has a very runny, liquid consistency that can be deceiving to those of us used the “normal” foundations. However, once you start applying it on to the skin it thickens up. Don’t ask me how, but what starts as pretty much colored water turns into a serum like product that leaves your face (and body) with a beautiful satin glow.

Not enough coverage? No need to worry with this product. This foundation can serve a wide range of coverage needs. If you use thin layers it can be built up to medium, and even full coverage. You can use any foundation application tool you like, but I like to apply this product with my fingers. In my opinion this is the best way to apply it as I have better control of areas that need more coverage. I also think it is easier to add layers this way.

The color range is really nice too, with six colors in the cool range (N-series numbers) and seven colors in the warm range (C-series numbers). I own three shades – C4, C5 and N2. These allow me to customize my foundation year round. I have to admit that most of the time I use C4 on it’s own, so you don’t need to have multiple shades to it work for you. It also comes in two sizes, a 50mL bottle and a 120mL bottle. I bought mine over a year ago and I still have a few more months of use left.

Other positive things about this foundation are the fact that it is water resistant. This is particularly useful if you live in hot and/or humid climates. It is also very long lasting, I get 10+ hours without it fading or oxidizing on me.

So, if you are in the market for a foundation that is long wearing and provides you the flexibility to decide the coverage you want to use – give MAC’s Studio Face and Body a try. You may find yourself falling in love with your new, all time favorite beauty product. 😉
